This months photo is courtesy of Lotus Cars. When these images were sent out in a press release, this one in particular caught our eye as it catches the heritage of the brand along with the brutality of the current Exige Cup 430.

This Exige was prepared by ‘Lotus Exclusives’ so is a custom car that’s gone through the process of being given a ‘Heritage Pack’ treatment as an homage to the stunning Type 49 which is being fettled ready for racing in the background.

This month, another ‘430’ in action. This striking Olive Green Exige Cup 430 is looking very much at home around the Nurburgring’s famous Karussell corner. We can only imagine how much fun the owner had that day. This rich, technicolour image was taken by photographer, film maker and petrolhead Bruno Dias who spends much of his spare time at the Nurburgring. Our thanks to Bruno for agreeing to share it with us.

While the rest of us were sheltering from near incessant rain, this shot of a GT430 neatly clipping an apex was taken at the fabulous Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in sunny Portugal.

This particular GT430, one of only two Essex Blue cars, belongs to TLF member Mark Allin who also has the distinction of being the first man to lap Portimao in the ultimate Evora. The image was one of a stunning series taken by Raj Hunjan of prettyflyphotography.com, so our thanks go out to Raj and Mark for agreeing to share it with us.

At long last, the car that’s won just about everything else, wins PoTM! Surprisingly perhaps, we haven’t featured the iconic Seven here before now, that’s mainly because great images of this particular Lotus legend seem to be in short supply. Fortunately, David Schultz had other ideas. Taken at the Sonoma Raceway near San Francisco it really captures the purity, intensity and union of man and machine that remains unmatched in the automotive world. While some may be surprised that the Seven, originally sold in kit form as far back as 1957, is still in production today (as a Caterham), anyone who’s driven one in anger will know why.

February belongs to the car of the moment, this striking yellow Exige Cup 430 which has been doing the rounds on social media. This actual car was, we believe, the first customer Cup 430 to be delivered in the UK, having recently collected from Lotus Silverstone. Taken by Malcolm Feth of nineteen80one.com fame outside the F1 pits at Silverstone, it was originally shot at 80 megapixels for exceptional detail.
